The Supreme Court of Ohio released the results from the February 2026 Ohio Bar Examination on April 24. A total of 338 aspiring attorneys took the exam, and 143 – or 42% – passed. Of the 116 examinees who took the exam for the first time, 71 (61%) received a passing score. The successful examinees represent 38 Ohio counties and seven states.
Those who meet all requirements for admission to the Ohio legal profession will be sworn in as attorneys during a special session of the Supreme Court in Columbus at the Palace Theatre on Monday, May 18 at 2 p.m. The Bar Admissions ceremony also will be livestreamed on the Supreme Court website.
Following the ceremony, the new attorneys and their guests are invited to the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. The Ohio State Bar Association will host a reception in the Grand Concourse, including food, complimentary headshots, and photos inside the courtroom in front of the Supreme Court bench. The Supreme Court Office of Attorney Services Registration & CLE Section will be available with information on attorney registration, new lawyer training, and the Court’s Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program.
The following organizations will also be present to answer questions from new attorneys:
