Law firm raises thousands for foodbank at Polar Bear Jump

Published: March 1, 2017

AKRON––Local personal injury law firm, Kisling, Nestico & Redick (KNR) took the plunge to fight hunger and donated more than $30,000 to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank at the 14th Annual Portage Lakes Polar Bear Jump in New Franklin recently.

Consisting of 44 volunteers and raising enough money to provide more than 120,000 meals, Team KNR gathered around the frigid water to make a celebratory splash and bring awareness to those who face food insecurity.

“One in every four children in northeast Ohio struggles with hunger,” said Managing Partner Rob Nestico, adding, “The Polar Bear Jump is a great way to bring awareness to issues we face in our community and it provides our team the opportunity to give back and really make a difference.”

This is the fourth time Team KNR has participated in this event, bringing their Polar Bear donation total to $82,000 throughout the years.

“We have so much fun competing with other top donors like First Energy,” says Director of Operations Brandy Gobrogge. “We’re just a local law firm, so to see our team pull together and raise as much as large corporations is very heartwarming and inspiring.”

Team KNR participates in many charitable events throughout the year. To date, the firm has raised more than $300,000 for local charities and organizations.
