Executives looking to engage workers likely to become weary of social distancing and its effects in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic may want to start planning their next teambuilding outing.
And what could be more appealing to the adherents of self-imposed seclusion than the fresh air and natural beauty of the Hocking Hills.
No matter the fitness-level or interest of a particular team, Hocking Hills Adventure Trek offers something - rappelling, guided hikes, archery, a painting class - for everyone.
Group leaders are able to customize teambuilding experiences even among an individual team. Hocking Hills Adventure Trek's website noted that the business can combine one or more individual treks into a single offering for guests.
Marking its first decade in business, the company offers easy access to nature, presenting it in a number of different ways, depending on the participants.
"We're adventure guides, naturalists, artists and team building experts," the company website noted. "With over 40 professional guides, we offer a huge variety of outdoor recreation and experiential learning activities for couples, families and groups of all kinds."
Guides discuss geology, biology, forest edibles and wildlife, fostering enthusiasm and an enjoyable experience.
Rock climbing and rappelling treks are led by American Mountain Guide Association-certified instructors, according to company officials.
Arguably the most original activity Hocking Hills Adventure Trek offers is its Ohio Belly Boat Fishing, which enjoys a No. 1 ranking on Trip Advisor, according to the website.
The activity takes first-time fishermen and women and veteran anglers, alike, directly into the drink. Similar to fly fishing, the participant is outfitted in chest waders, but that's where any likeness ends.
Swim fins are attached to participants' feet and individuals are seated in the belly boat, which is also known as a kick boat and consists U-shaped tube or pontoons connected by a seat allowing the angler to sit either in the water or just above the water and allow his legs to dangle in the water for propulsion.
The company said the activity is ideal for beginners and kids as young as eight years old.
All gear, including the belly boat, is included in the cost of the trek: $195 for adults, 18 and older and $150 for kids.
Participants 16 years old and older must obtain an Ohio fishing license prior to the event.
Treks are offered in the Hocking Hills and across Eastern Ohio's AEP ReCreation Lands. Guides are certified naturalists sharing knowledge along the way
Half-day belly boat fishing trek lasts approximately four hours, the company advised.
