Roetzel & Andress adds new associate, recognizes partner

Published: October 20, 2014

AKRON––Ronald B. Lee, a partner in the Roetzel & Andress's Akron office, has successfully achieved recertification as a civil trial advocate by The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).

In order to achieve certification, the NBTA requires that attorneys successfully complete a stringent screening process that includes the demonstration of substantial trial experience, the submission of judicial and peer references that attest to the attorney's competence, attendance at continuing legal education courses and proof of good standing with the bar in their state or states of admission. Only 3 percent of American lawyers are board certified.

Lee's practice focuses on toxic tort and mass tort as well as general liability defense, litigation and insurance coverage. He represents a broad spectrum of clients in a wide range of litigation matters including popcorn litigation, lead, chemical exposure, benzene, latex gloves, mold litigation, electrical appliances, cranes, pools, and silica.

Roetzel & Andress also announced that Laura L. Wallerstein has joined the firm as an associate.

Wallerstein joins the firm’s Real Estate Group where she will focus her practice on several aspects of real estate law, including conveyancing, financial services, loan documentation, and condominium and association law. She also practices in the corporate and business law sectors.

Active in the Greater Akron community, Wallerstein is both a board member and chair of the Program Compliance Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Summit and Medina Counties. She is also a member and Community Leadership Project co-chair of Torchbearers. Professionally, she is a member of the Greater Akron Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and serves on the Membership Committee of the Women’s Network.

Selected as an Ohio Super Lawyer – Rising Star for 2014, she is also named among the “30 For the Future” by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Akron Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, American Bar Association and The University of Akron Alumni Association, where she serves as a director and as chair of the Special Events Committee.
